Radar Reflector - where on the mast should it be fitted
My boat is fitted with a AIS transceiver but no radar reflector. You might say why am I worried about a reflector, and anyway they are not very effective. While passive reflectors are not particularly effective they are probably better than nothing and should all power be lost they still work. If you have fitted a radar reflector, where did you fit it? If you fitted it on the mast did you fix it above or below the forestay attachment? Are you pleased where you attached it or with hindsight would you have fixed it elsewhere if so where? Lastly, what model did you install, alternatively how high is it and how far off the mast does it extend.
Thank you for your help.
Best regards John Mace

John,
I have a radar reflector on Petrel. It was fitted by a previous owner so do not have any details, but hope the photo helps.
Kind regards
