new seacooks

Postby palace » Tue Apr 17, 2018 9:50 am

I am in the process of refit my new hr 29 from 1990 hull ( soon i wil make a presentation ), I have put new rigging and the next thing is to change the seacooks , ¿ which you recommend me? I am thinking in bronze since should be the same material of the original through-hull , I also doubt if changing also the through-hull , since they are 28 years old but I do not know if it is necessary or I can keep the originals. What do you think ?

best regards from spain

Hi Ignacio,

I do the same task this year, and bought CR-Brass thru hulls and seacocks.
I think you should change the thru hull also, because when you remove the seacock
they probably get leaky at the seal to the hull. and they aren´t expensive.
I bought them from SVB Germany, it´s an Italian product.

Hi Ralph

Yes i think it is better to replace since they are quite old and this a very important key point to feel safe in the water ...

which brand of seacoks did you use ?
