Upholstery
I am trying to identify the blue corded velvet upholstery fabric used on our boats. Mine is a mid blue.
Does anyone have source or description of the fabric?

Re: Upholstery
Hi Chris, unfortunately I don't know the source or description of the fabric. We faced exactly the same problem a year ago when renewing our mattresses. Our initial idea was just to replace the saloon settees, since they were naturally the most worn out. However, we couldn't find similar fabric from the local mattress shop. Even if we would have, I guess that one problem would have been matching the colour with the old upholstery since the colour was partly washed out. Actually, it was quite difficult to tell, what had been the original colour. The 'current' colour was mostly light blue.
If this forum doesn't know the answer I believe that HR could help you with this question and whether it is possible to buy that fabric somewhere.

Re: Upholstery
Yes Antti matching would be a problem. I am just replacing the lifting upholstered toilet seat and hoping to find a close match but not worried if it's not exact.
HR have the original colours listed on their website but out of the four only one is still available.
Searching the net in the UK just brings up a fabric called 'Jumbo Cord' which is quite different.
Anyway not to worry any similar material will be better than the horrible bit of vinyl that a PO replaced the original with.
I know this area is slightly vulnerable but with a little care and if men follow the same method as women when using the facility, I don't think one really needs to resort to such a 'practical' material as vinyl!
