Introduction - my name is John Mace and I have recently joined the HR29 Forum. I started sailing dinghies in Chichester harbour about 55 years ago. Later, along with my wife, purchased a bare Varne Folkboat hull and deck and spent many years fitting it out to a high standard. In 2019 we purchased Saphir, a 1986 built HR29 and, as important managed to sell our Folkboat before the lock down in 2020! Saphir has been well looked after and upgraded by the two previous owners. I have a few enhancements in mind the most urgent being to bring the slab reefing lines back to the cockpit, something which worked very well on the Folkboat. I look forward to contributing and learning from the body of knowledge contained in the forum.
